Unconscious Bias Training Day – Sat 14th April

February 6th, 2018 by

Trust House Reading is hosting a training day on Unconscious Bias on Saturday 14th April. This will be held at the Conference Hall, RISC café, London Street, Reading 9.45am – 4.15pm

By definition, decisions based on conscious biases are not intentional acts. Rigorous research in the field of social psychology demonstrates that humans make judgements informed by a range of factors, many of which are outside of conscious control. Asserting an intention to be fair is not a safeguard against unconscious judgements.
This training day will use case studies and exercises to shift from an intellectual understanding of unconscious bias to personal and practice based changes. The training will help delegates to be aware of the actions that they can take to reduce bias.

Learning outcomes
• An understanding of the mechanics of unconscious bias
• Knowledge of the impact of unconscious bias on particular social groups
• Awareness of how individual behaviour becomes contributory to patterns of inequality
• Knowledge of a rage of measures that can reduce the impact of unconscious biases on a panel’s activities.

If you would like to attend this training day, please email [email protected]rg

Tickets cost £45 per person.

Refreshments will be provided. Delegates are asked to bring their own lunch.
